Obituary of Marilyn Janicki
Marilyn Janicki, 70, of Whiting, Manchester, passed away Monday, March 22, 2009 at St. Barnabas Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River. Born in Sewickley, PA on June 28, 1938, she grew up in Ambridge, PA before moving to New Jersey in 1963 and settling in South River in 1966. She was employed for more than a decade as the HR Coordinator at South Amboy Medical Center before retiring in 1996. She moved to Whiting in 2001 and was an active communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. A devout advocate for the underprivileged and mentally distressed, she served as a crisis counselor for Contact of Ocean County from 2004 to 2006.
Marilyn was predeceased by her son, Thomas A. in 1995 and her grandson, Daniel in 2005. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Adam; four children, Kenna M. Janicki, Kurt, Daniel and Adam J.; one brother, Frank Santry; one sister, Jo Anne Champion; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10 a.m. in the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
