Obituary of John Lennon

John J. Lennon, 76, of Whiting, passed away on January 24, at Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, Browns Mills. Born in the Bronx, NY, and resided in Flushing, NY and Tulsa, OK, before moving to Whiting in 1977. John worked for Cities Service Oil Co. for 18 years, retiring in 1976. John was US army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a DAV life member. He was a communicant of St. John's Catholic Church, Lakehurst. John is survived by his brother Joseph Lennon of Whiting; one sister Cecelia Bacon of Queens, NY, and several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 PM, on Wednesday, January 28, at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 AM, at St. John's Catholic Church, Chestnut St., Lakehurst. Interment will follow at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
