Obituary of Elizabeth Lewis

Elizabeth (Forbes) Lewis, 80, of Oregon, passed away on January 1. She was born in New York City, and resided there, Hamilton Twp, and Whiting, before moving to Oregon in 2005. Betty was a former Chairperson of the Mercer County Right to Life Association and was an avid champion of that cause. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a former chairperson of the parish Respect Life Committee. She was also a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. Betty was beloved by all who know her. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, William H. Lewis. She is survived by her 10 children; Michael, William, Robert, Kenneth, Edward, Marianne Lewis, Monica Tiedemann, Joanne Lewis, Helen Dwornitski, and Catherine Valponi; her sisters, Marie Sherry and Helen Hiner; 20 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchilden and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 pm, Sunday, Jan 11 2009 at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home 28 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting, and from 10 to 10:45am, Monday, January 12. A funeral liturgy will follow at 11 am, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Burial will follow at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
