Obituary of Catherine Matthies

Catherine T. Matthies, 92, of Whiting, Manchester, passed away on Sunday, December 7th, at Haven at Silverwoods. Mrs. Matthies was born in New York, NY and resided in the Bronx, NY, Staten Island, NY, and Micco, FL, before moving to Whiting in 1995. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Milton, in 1997. She is survived by two sons: John of Shallotte, NC and Gerard of Hoboken; three daughters: Carol Hauser and Theresa Molloy, both of Whiting, and Maureen Bringoli of Whiting, NJ; one brother Charles Reynolds of Nyack, NY; 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.; on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday morning from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. in the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association would be greatly appreciated.
