Obituary of Gilbert Buhler

Gilbert F. Buhler, 79, of Whiting, Manchester, passed away on Sunday, November 30, at home. Born in Norwood, NJ, and resided in Closter, before moving to Whiting in 1993. He was a wonderful husband and a loving father and grandfather. Gilbert owned Buhler Construction in Closter. He was a member of the Closter Elk Lodge #2304. He was member of the Closter Volunteer Fire Company and a life member of the New Jersey Fireman's Association. He was also an avid sports fan. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Jean, three daughters, Linda and her husband Kevin Hayes of Westwood; Susan and her husband Bob Sullivan of Millstone; and Carolyn and her husband Ray Smith of Jackson, and six grandchildren, Katie, Kyle, Sam, Katrina, Megan, and Matthew. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday, December 3, at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting, NJ 0759. Cremation and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Kevin's Kids" Manchester Township Middle School, 2759 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester, NJ 08759.
