Obituary of John Ragan

John J. Ragan, 89, of Whiting, Manchester Twp., died Wednesday, November 5th at the VanDyke Hospice Center, Toms River. John was born in Camden, and resided in Palmyra for 52 years before moving to Whiting in 2004. He was a driver and salesman for RMP, a division of Rice and Holman for 36 years, retiring in 1986. He attended Audubon High School, Audubon, NJ and also Freehold Military School, Freehold. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, NJ. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. John was predeceased by his son, Michael. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Joanne Zelnick Ragan; his son, Tom & wife, Marge of Lanoka Harbor; his daughter-in-law, Susan Ragan of Palmyra; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:00 am in All Saints Chapel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting with interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, Riverside, NJ.
