Obituary of Sr. Scalera

Nicholas J. Scalera, Sr., 95, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, October, 22, 2014 at home. Born in Port Richmond, NY, he lived on Staten Island, NY before moving to Whiting in 1982. Nick worked as a bargeman for Gulf Oil Refinery, Staten Island, NY. He ws a U.S. army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Angela; two children, Nicholas of Allentown, NJ and Josephine Rampulla and her husband, Phillip of Long Beach Island, NY; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 27th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. at the the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
