Obituary of John Coogan
John Gary Coogan, 95, of Manchester, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at home. Born in Pennsylvania, he lived in Old Bridge before moving to Manchester in 1997. John was a union representative for the AFL-CIO, Baker's Union, Local 50 in East Brunswick for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He was a communicant of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst.
He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Stella Coogan in 2004. Surviving are three children, Michael Coogan of Manchester, Carole Diehm of Freehold and JoAnne Lamanna of Toms River; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 12th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 13th, at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst. Entombment will be at Whiting Memorial Park.
