Obituary of Mildred Valasek

Mildred L. Valasek, 85, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, NY. Born in Queens, NY, she lived in Long Island City, NY before moving to Whiting in 1980. She was a printer and collator for NY Printing Company, Long Island City, NY. Mildred was a member of the Pine Ridge Busy Bees, Residents Club, Social Club and Arts and Crafts Club. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Mildred was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Francis Valasek in 2001 and her brother, Anthony Laucella. She is survived by one son, Stephen Valasek and his wife, Mary; one daughter, Elizabeth Leone-Nero and her husband, Patrick; one brother, Ralph Laucella; three sisters, Lucille Savino, Lorraine Cavalliere and Violet Manganiello; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, March 9th and from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., Monday, March 10th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Entombment will be at Whiting Memorial Park.
