Obituary of Rev. Donald McEwan

REV. DONALD CAMERON McEWAN, 90, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, passed away Friday, July 4, at Crestwood Manor Health Care Center in Whiting. Born in Union City, NJ, he lived in Bloomfield and Parsippany before moving to Whiting in 1979. Rev. McEwan was a teacher with the Parsippany Board of Education for 40 years. He was a Minister for the Episcopal Diocese of Newark for more than 50 years, serving his last ministry at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Whiting. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the National Deacon's Association, N.J.E.A. and N.E.A., Men's Club of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Whiting, Crestwood Cultural Commission and past President of the Kiwanis Club of Crestwood Village. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Louise, this past February. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Jean Pierce of Simpsonville, SC; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Ethel McEwan of Lakewood; two nieces, Jane Roehm of Lansing, MI and Norma Long of LaCygne, KS and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 180 Route 539, Whiting. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Whiting.
