Obituary of Robert Whitman

Robert G. Whitman, Jr., 82, of Holiday City at Berkeley, Toms River, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 at the Superior Residences of Brandon, Brandon, FL. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Bound Brook, NJ prior to moving to Holiday City in 1990. Mr. Whitman was a Project Engineer with American Cyanamid. He was a member of the American Legion; Holiday City Golf Club; and the Holiday City Bowling Club. Mr. Whitman was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. Mr. Whitman was predeceased by his wife, Janet, of 60 years, in November 2004 and by his sister, Audrey Lawler. He is survived by two Daughters, Mary Lynn Dowd & her husband Arthur & Debra Allen and her husband Jim; three sons, Robert G. Whitman III and his wife Carolyn; Wayne K. Whitman and his wife Antoinette; and Paul A. Whitman and his wife Karen; Twelve Grandchildren & Thirteen Great-Grandchildren. Visiting hours on Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting with a funeral service at 8 pm in the funeral home.
