Obituary of James Tempio
JAMES V. TEMPIO 87, of Crestwood Village V, Whiting, MANCHESTER, passed away Wednesday, May 28, at home. Born in Palermo, Italy, Mr. Tempio moved to the United States and lived in New Milford, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1980. He was a Service Manager at Causeway Ford, Manahawkin, retiring in 1992. Prior to that, he worked at Stillman & Hoag Buick, Englewood, NJ. He was a member of the Residents Club, Bocce Club and Fishing Club, all, of Village V. He was a member and former Vice-President of the Italian American Club and a member of the Pine Cone Carvers of Whiting. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Dolly) Tempio, four children, Katherine Bianchi of Leonia, NJ, Maria McCann of Circleville, NY, James R. of Manhattan, NY and Richard S. Decatur, GA; one sister, Jennie Tempio of Jersey City, NJ and four grandchildren, Marco and Alessandro Bianchi, Joseph Tempio and Chelsea Leigh McCann..
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10 a.m. in the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
