Obituary of Sr. Romero

Ferdinand Romero, Sr., 76, of Whiting passed away, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Arista Care at Whiting. Born in New York City, NY, he lived there and in Garfield, NJ before moving to Whiting in 2007. Ferdinand was a warehouse manager for ABC Records in New York City, NY. He also worked for HBJ Publishing, Saddle Brook, NJ and retired from the Rag Shop in 2007. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Ferdinand is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carmen Rita Romero; one daughter and son-in-law, Diana and William Gannon, Jr. of Putnam Valley, NY; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Olinda Hernandez of East Meadow, NY and Ferdinand, Jr. and Lucila Romero; one brother, Felix Romero of Queens, NY; one sister, Palmira Romero of Farmingdale, NY; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 26th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Friday, Sept. 27th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at Whiting Memorial Park.
