I had a lot of good times with Joe in Germany and for some reason he came across my thoughts and I thought I'd look him up. I know he's been gone but I've never posted anything that I recall of. I know it's almost 12 years but better late than never. I can recall the New Year's eve of 2001 and Joe tied glowsticks to strings and swung them around on the dance floor. It was quite a spectacle and a good show. I went with Joe to some fasching events to when he had a girlfriend participating in them. The guy was always friendly, in good spirits, and fun to hang around with. The world won't be the same without him and he's missed. This picture was from a bar in Germany. I hope the family and his kid are doing well.

Dearest friends, We knew Joey in High School, and have very fond memories of him. We remember seeing pictures of him and his family when he could not make it to the 10 year reunion a few years ago, and feeling a great sense of pride that one of our classmates was serving in Iraq. He was a great asset to this country and will be sorely missed. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, S. Michael Simms Jennifer L Simms (formerly Thompson)

I am honored to have served on the Police Force with Joe for the last two years, and one of my fondest memories is how we would teasingly call him "Daisy Dukes" due to his Police Bike Team shorts being so short on his very tall stature. But no worries, because his great sense of humor would always find a way to tease us back. We miss you Joe, you are one of the finest police officers I've been able to work with, and no one will wear your Daisy Dukes like you did :)

Dear MaryAnn and Ray, I don't know if you remember me, we worked together at the court house many years ago. I was taken back when i read and saw Joey's picture in the paper, he looked the same as the little boy I remember. My heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow,I just can't express my feelings to you. Please know that I am thinking of you and am praying for you and your family. I'm sure he touched many lives and will be remembered and loved by all that knew him love joan clayton
