Obituary of Lilia Sobecki
Lilia Sobecki, 91, of Whiting, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 at her son's home in Howell. Born in London, England, she came to the United States in 1947. She lived in Bayonne for 8 years and Scotch Plains for 20 years before moving to Whiting in 1983. She was a waitress at Snuffy's in Scotch Plains. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
Lilia was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Stanley A. Sobecki in 1980 and her daughter, Virginia in 1951. She is survived by two sons John and his wife, Virginia of Rockaway, NJ and Eugene and his wife, Linda of Howell; one daughter, Marybeth Sobecki and her husband, George of Cloverdale, CA; one sister, Sylvia McMahon of London, England; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 26th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:45 a.m., Saturday, April 27th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.
