Obituary of Frank Legge

Frank Henry Legge, 92, of Crestwood Village in Whiting, NJ died peacefully in his home on January 26th. Prior to his retirement he was employed by The Rubberset Company, a Division of the Sherwin Williams Company as Plant Controller. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Born in Newark, NJ, he was a graduate of Weequahic HS class of 1938. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served honorably until 1945. He returned to Rubberset Company and Rutgers, Newark night classes. He was a graduate of Rutgers University, BS and MBA. He married his beautiful wife, Trudie and they just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He lived in Kenilworth, and then Bloomfield until 1970. He moved to Salisbury, MD in 1970 until returning to NJ in 2000. In Salisbury, he was active as a Eucharistic Minister and in the church life of St. Francis de Sales. He instituted the financial bookkeeping system of Coastal Hospice and volunteered his services there from 1982 until 1989. Frank is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lillian; and his sister, Lillian Bailey. Surviving are his loving wife, Gertrude, his daughter, Christina Clarizio of Point Pleasant; his sons, Thomas Legge of Little Egg Harbor; and Michael Legge of Levittown, PA; his sister, Sr. Mary Legge of Philadelphia; his granddaughter Elena Bond and her husband Taylor, his granddaughter, Rebecca Clarizio, and her boyfriend Patrick Boyle, all of Jersey City; his cousins, Pat and Helen Coakley, of Manasquan; his nieces and nephews and many friends. Frank is deeply missed by those who have known him. Visitation will be from 9 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:45 a.m. at the Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. The Interment Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, Arneytown, North Hanover Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Frank Legge.
