Obituary of Jeannette Realmuto
JEANNETTE FRANCES REALMUTO, 61, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, died on Tuesday, February 12th of complications from lung disease with her family by her side. Born in Jersey City on March 20, 1946 to Charles Groves and Dorothea Collins, Jeannette spent her early years with her seven siblings in Union City and North Bergen before she met the love of her life, Salvatore, on a blind date and married him on September 25, 1965. In 1968 they moved to Hazlet, where she spent the next 26 years raising her three children and creating lifelong friendships before moving to Ocean Township and then settling in Whiting with her husband. For the past fourteen years, she found her greatest life joy in caring for and spoiling her four beautiful grandchildren. Jeannette enjoyed reading, dancing, trips to Atlantic City, card nights, and everything Elvis - but her favorite hobby by far was simply spending time with her family and friends. She made us all laugh with her sense of humor, her funny sayings, and her desire for things neat and clean, but she will be remembered most for her loyalty to friends, her unending love and compassion, and, above all, her extraordinary dedication to her family. Jeannette is survived by her beloved husband, Salvatore Realmuto, Jr., daughter Lisa Ann Stieve and husband Douglas, son Greg Charles Realmuto and wife Pamela, and son Salvatore Realmuto III and wife Erin; her grandchildren Michael, Christine, Samantha, and Mackenzie; her brothers Richard Hicks, Fred Hicks, and Calvin Groves; her sister Roberta Ruggieri; and too many nieces and nephews to name. We will all miss her dearly and remember her always with love. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will be offered at 10 a.m., Saturday from the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be private.
