Obituary of Mildred "Mitzi" Wisniewski

Mildred "Mitzi" C. Wisniewski, 80, of Whiting, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family at her bedside on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Born in Roselle, NJ she lived most of her life in Elizabeth, NJ before moving to Whiting in 2000. She was a secretary for the Naval Yards in Bayonne, NJ and Singer Sewing Machine Co. in Elizabeth, NJ. Mitzi was an accomplished pianist and member of the Musicians Union, playing the piano since the age of four. She was a graduate of Battin High School in Elizabeth in 1951 and was a member of the Esso Choristers for many years. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Henry; three children, Susan Goldenbaum and her husband, Edwin of North Brunswick, NJ, Carol Drury and her husband, Walter of Dingmans Ferry, PA and Steven Wisneski of Aberdeen, NJ; one sister, Marilyn Schick; one brother, Lawrence Minch, Jr. and his wife, Joan; four grandchildren, Kristen Charleston and her husband, Tim, Melissa Goldenbaum, Alexandra Goldenbaum and Caitlin Drury; and one great-granddaughter, Gwen Charleston. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23rd and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan 24th at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:45 a.m., at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942
