Obituary of John Kerestan
John Kerestan, 97, of Whiting, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Menlo Park. Born in Linden, he lived in Carteret before moving to Whiting. John was a lead gauger with Amoco Oil Company, Carteret for 40 years, retiring in 1977. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Slovak Club in Carteret and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
John was predeceased by his wife, Sally in 2011, his sister, Mary Sudzina in 2006 and six other siblings in Europe. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Robert Donnelly of Forked River and Gloria and Daniel Dempsey of Edison; four grandchildren, David and Daniel Campbell and Kate and Beth Dempsey and one niece, Marianne Morecraft.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 3rd at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Friday, Jan. 4th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home, Menlo Park.
