Obituary of Jr. Riley
EDWARD P. RILEY, JR., 75, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, passed away Tuesday, January 22, at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood after a courageous battle with diabetes and its complications. Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 28, 1932 to the late Edward Sr. and Mary (Mayer) Riley, he attended Clifton High School, where he met the love of his life, Jean. Ed lived in Bucks County, PA for most of his adult life as a successful businessman, then retired in 1992, and moved back to New Jersey in 2002. He was affectionately known as "Pops" to his grandchildren and loved to attend their sporting events and other activities. Razor sharp until the end, Ed loved to discuss politics, sports, history and current events. Considering his countless medical challenges over the years, he was always quick to share a joke and a smile. He loved life and making people laugh. He was past President of the Neshaminy Redskins "N" Club and past President of the St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Ottsville, PA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jean (McClelland) Riley, and his three children: Kathy (Riley) Bloom Devey and her husband Scott of Cherry Hill, NJ; Ed Riley III and his wife Maureen of Holland, PA; and Jim Riley and his wife Sue of Swedesboro, NJ. He treasured his nine grandchildren: Shannon (Riley) Briscoe, her husband Chris and daughter Kyle, Erin Bloom, Leah Bloom, Gina Bloom, Jimmy Riley, Jr., Lauren Riley, Bryan Riley, Caitlin Riley and Colleen Riley. At his request, services and burial will be private. Interment will be at Keller's Church Cemetery in Perkasie, PA.
