Obituary of John Rapka

JOHN B. RAPKA, 76, of Parlin, OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP, died Sunday, December 30, at home. Born in East Orange, he lived in Kennsington, MD before moving to Parlin in 1960. Mr. Rapka was a Professor of Engineering Science at Middlesex County College in Edison for 20 years, retiring in 1991. He received his Masters Degree in Engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick in 1980 and his Undergraduate Degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken in 1953. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Professional Engineering Association and the N.R.A. He is survived by four children, Susan Rapka of Parlin, Nancy Buckner of Bagota, TN, John R. Rapka of Blairstown, and James R. Rapka of Manalapan; one sister, Anna Bennett of Sparta; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Interment will follow. at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
