Obituary of Frank Barone
Frank F. Barone, 91, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star. He was a member of the D.A.V. #20, the American Legion, Post 502, Whiting and the V.F.W., Post 9503, Berkeley. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
Frank was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Josephine in 2008. He is survived by two sons, Frank of Bayonne and Thomas of Mt. Sinai, NY; one daughter, Joann Lipowski of Harleysville, PA; one sister, Therese (Terry) Castaldo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 8th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to VANJHCS, Attention: Voluntary Service (135LY), 151 Knollcroft Road, Building 2, Lyons, NJ 07939.
