Obituary of Thomas Kelsh
Thomas F. Kelsh, 83, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. He was born and raised in Staten Island, NY and lived in Metuchen for 29 years before moving to Whiting in 1992. He was a cost accountant with Zurn Industries, Erie, PA for 29 years, retiring in 1986. Thomas served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, receiving the Silver Star for Bravery in Combat, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, St. Francis Council #3272, Metuchen and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann; four sons, James of Chicago, IL, John of Hasbrouck Heights, Thomas of Schenectady, NY and Matthew of Eldersburg, MD; one brother, Gerald of Springtown, PA; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 10th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Brig, Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, the familt requests donations be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or the Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.
