GEORGE CANNATA, 94, of Crestwood Village VII, Whiting, MANCHESTER, died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. He was a member of men's group ,Residents Club and Bocci Club of Village VII. Born in Sicily he came to the United States in 1916 lived in Staten Island, NY and Brick, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1983. Predeceased by his wife of 70 years in January 2007 and his brother John Cannata in April, 2007 he is survived by two children, George Cannata of South Hampton, NY and Louise Fritz of Naples, FL; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will be offered 10 a.m.,Wednesday in the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
