Obituary of Margaret Hollands
MARGARET D. HOLLANDS, 71, of Crestwood Village V, Whiting, MANCHESTER, died Thursday, October 11, at the Van Dyke Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Toms River. Mrs. Hollands was a Special Education Teacher in New York City and the Zion Lutheran Pre-School in Staten Island, NY, for 3 years. She was the past president and treasurer of the Pine Needles of Whiting, a member of the Residents Club, Bowling Team and Bocce Club of Village V and a member of the Quilters Guild of Staten Island, NY. She belonged to the First Baptist Church of Toms River and was a member of the Bible Study Group. She was born and raised in Staten Island, NY, moving to Whiting ten years ago. She was predeceased by one brother, Robert Rasmussen, in 1998. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald G. Hollands; four children, Wayne Hollands, Judith Hollands and Glenn Hollands, all, of Staten Island, NY and Nancy Atlak of Linden; two brothers, Thomas Rasmussen and Martin Rasmussen, both, of Whiting; two sisters, Elizabeth Dalmazio of Shandaken, NY and Lois Webb of Denver, CO and two granddaughters, Tracy and Kathleen. Relatives and friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
