Obituary of Thomas Peslak
THOMAS A. PESLAK, 70, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, died Saturday, October 6, at home with his family by his side. Tom was born and grew up in Eynon, PA. He moved to Belleville, NJ and later raised his family in Howell, NJ, where he lived for 32 years before moving to Whiting in 1996. He retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company, East Brunswick after 20 years as a Line Supervisor. He was a member of the Army Reserves. He was active in the Cedar Glen Lakes S.O.S. Program. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Tom was a friend of Bill W. for 32 years and a member of the Matt Talbot Retreat Group 51 and 77. Tom was a gentle giant, a kind and compassionate mountain man who loved life, his family and especially his 17 grandchildren. Always an optimist, his smile, humor and big heart will be deeply missed. He was a die hard Giants and Yankees fan who loved to cheer for his favorite teams. He was predeceased by two brothers, Allan and John. Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, Roseann; two brothers, Henry and Edward; five sisters, Stasia Rolka, Frances Kobrick, Jeanette Laky, Cathryn Peslak and Florence Peslak; four sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Diane of Rural Hall, NC, Tom, Jr. and Trish of Lacey, Larry and Dawn of Plumsted and Peter and Tasha of Toms River; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jim Brokaw of Whiting and 17 grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
