Obituary of Patrick Sharkey

Patrick J. Sharkey, 88, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Ireland, he came to the U.S. in 1947. He lived in West Orange, moving to the Cedar Glen Lakes section of Whiting in 1999. Patrick was employed with NJ Bell for 31 years, retiring in 1986. Patrick was predeceased by his wife, Sheila; his son, John; three brothers, Alfie, Vincey, & Noel; and his sister, Una Bennett. He is survived by two children, MaryAnn Arena & Carmel O'Connor; two brothers, Ted & Dermot Sharkey; two sisters, Kathleen Byrne & Marion Dittman; Seven Grandchildren and three Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, with a Funeral Liturgy at 10:45 a.m. Thursday from the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
