Obituary of John Bartlett
John William Bartlett, 86, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in South Attleboro, MA, he lived in Lakewood before moving to Whiting 25 years ago. John worked for NY Transit. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Brooklyn, NY and was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
John was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Szczepaniak and his son, Vincent Bartlett. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Sharon Bartlett and Robert and Maria Bartlett; one son-in-law, Stanley Szczepaniak; one sister, Dorothy Bruno; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchilldren.
Visitation will be from 12 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Mar. 25th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9 a.m., Monday, Mar. 26th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
