Obituary of Margaret Hearne

Margaret A. Hearne, 91, of Whiting, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood. Born in Hoboken, N.J., she lived in Bloomfield, N.J., Linwood, N.J. and Whitesboro, N.Y. before moving to Whiting in 1983. Margaret graduated from St. Joseph High School in West New York, N.J. She was a member of the Crestwood Village V Bocci, Bowling, Golf and Bridge Clubs. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, where she served refreshments at Bingo. She was also a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Timothy in 2009; her son Edward in 2005 and her grandson, Geoffrey in 1974. She is survived by five sons and their spouses, William and Sandra, James and Carol, John and Anna, Timothy and Rosa and Robert Hearne; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hearne; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, March 22nd and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 23rd at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Way of Monmouth County, United Way of Ocean County or the Salesian Sisters Retirement Fund.
