Obituary of Jacqueline Rider

JACQUELINE A. RIDER AGE: 59 * WHITING Jacqueline A. Rider (Hankins), 59, of Whiting, Manchester Twp., passed away peacefully Monday, February 13, at home in Whiting, succumbing to cancer after a year long battle that was courageous and inspiring to her family and friends. Through it all she maintained an amazing degree of dignity and faith that will always be treasured, as will her life, by all who knew and loved her. Jackie was predeceased by her parents, John and Ethel Hankins of Bordentown, NJ and a sister, Rebecca, who died in 1955. Jackie is survived by Joseph, her devoted husband of thirty eight years and their loving family: Daughter, Kimberly A. Bopp & her husband Frank of Barnegat, NJ and their three children, Jillian, Abigail, and John (Jack); Daughter, Suzanne L. Collins & her husband Mark, also of Barnegat, NJ and their daughter Sydney; and son Joseph & his wife Tara of Cherry Hill, NJ and their child due in late August. Surviving Jackie also is a brother, John C. Hankins, Jr. of Bayville, NJ; her mother-in-law, Regina G. Rider of Whiting; three caring sisters-in-laws, her wonderful cousins, many nieces and nephews, many friends, and co-workers. Jackie was a Registered Nurse at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ and worked in the pre-admission testing department. She graduated from Bordentown Regional High School in 1970 and three years later received a diploma from Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing in Camden. Jackie was a Brownie Leader for her daughters and a team mom for her son's little league team. As her children reached high school age, she was an original Youth Ministry leader at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting, where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Especially dear to Jackie's heart were the family's two cats, Figaro & Patches. Cooking and baking were two of Jackie's passions and it was reflected in everything she prepared. She also loved flowers and gardens, dancing, painting, all four of the Philadelphia sports teams but especially her beloved Fightin' Phillies. But nothing was more important to Jackie than her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved all of their many activities and her family will miss her presence at all of them. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday at 10:45 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting with Interment to following in the Brig. Gen. William C.
