Obituary of Harry Anthony Wheeler
Harry A. Wheeler, 84, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Born in the Bronx, NY, he lived in Ocean Township before moving to Whiting in 2010. Harry was an electrical engineer at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, NJ for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School, Bronx, NY. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA and his Masters Degree from Rutgers University. He was a member of the Theta Zi Fraternity where he met his future wife, June. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, June Wheeler; three sons, Mark and his wife, Sharon of Whiting, Kenneth and his wife, Jacqueline of Belmar and George of Big Pine Key, FL; one sister, Bette Camarano and her husband, Frank of Franklin Square, NY; six grandchildren, Corinne, Kenneth, Robert, Brian, Steven and John and one great-grandchild, Lola.
Visitation will be Monday, August 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Tuesday, August 4th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Assoc., 801 Roeder Road, Suite 1000, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
