Obituary of Walter Thomas Newman

Walter Thomas Newman of Little Silver, NJ, entered into eternal rest peacefully on July 2, 2015. Walter was a distinguished member of the American Stock Exchange, a partner in BPN & Co., joined Goldman Sachs later in his career and was a past Commodore of the Patten Point Yacht Club. Walter had a quick wit, a sharp mind and a great work ethic. He had a warm, welcoming, personality. He leaves behind a legacy of love, peace, kindness, compassion and respect for all. He was committed to strong family values and lifelong friends. These special memories we will keep etched in our hearts forever. We are heartbroken to lose his presence in our lives. We mourn the loss of an amazing and loving man, but remain grateful and blessed to have been a part of his life. Walter leaves behind to cherish his memory his children he adored: Meryll Newman of Baltimore, Maryland; Hayley Newman of Little Silver, New Jersey; Keriann Newman Ford of Oregon; Scott Newman of California; his dear brother Dennis Newman of Long Island; his granddaughter Emma Ford of California; his ex-wife Elizabeth (Betsy) Newman of little Silver, NJ; and special nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, July 12th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road in Whiting, NJ.
