Obituary of Leonard Dioguardi

Leonard A. Dioguardi, 90, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Whiting Health Care Center in Manchester. Born in Harrison, NJ, he lived in East Newark before moving to Whiting in 1996. Leonard worked for Driver Harris Wire Manufacturing & Testing Co. in Harrison, NJ for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #402, Harrison and a member of the American Legion, Post 502, Whiting. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Leonard was predeceased by his son, Dennis A Dioguardi in 2009 and his sister, Francis Rabender. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Mary Dioguardi; his daughter-in-law, Theresa Dioguardi; one grandson, 1st Lt. Thomas Dioguardi of the U.S. Marine Corps, presently deployed; one granddaughter, Kristi Dioguardi of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 17th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown in the new Shelter. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the V.F.W., 210 Court House Lane, Toms River, NJ 08753 or The Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
