Obituary of Ruth Burnett

Ruth M. Burnett, 90, of Whiting, NJ passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Born in Bayonne, NJ, the daughter of Matthew and Ruey Mae Burnett, she resided in Cranford for many years until relocating to Whiting in 1998. Ruth worked for Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Church, Whiting. Ruth was predeceased by three brothers, Gerald, Donald and James Burnett and four sisters, Marian Barz, Jean Burnett, Claire Mallon and Dorothy Burnett. She is survived by one brother, Melvin Burnett and his wife, Betsy of Whiting; two sisters, Betty White of Alexandria, MN and Mildred Burn of Whiting; four nieces, Nancy Quinlan, Glenda Day, Ruth Vessells and Terri Waldron; three nephews, George Burn, Dale White and Rich Burnett and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation and Service will be Saturday, Nov. 15th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Christ Evangelical Church, 300 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting, NJ 08759.
