Obituary of Gail Travis

Gail E. Travis, 76, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Gail was born in Englewood, NJ and lived in Tenafly and Palisades Park before moving to Whiting 12 years ago. She was the head chef at Dwight-Englewood School in Englewood, NJ for over 20 years. Gail was twice Past Matron of the Eastern Star, Amore Chapter and a member of the Village Six Safety Patrol. She truly enjoyed her volunteer work for Somebody C.A.R.E.S., Inc, Whiting. Gail is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Vernon A. Richard, II of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Karen Wood of Green, NY and three grandchildren, Skylar M. Tirotta, Leila G. Richard and Vernon A. Richard, III. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, Sept. 19th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting with a Funeral Service to be held at 3:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
