Obituary of John Cascione
John "Harry" Cascione, 85, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Jackson before moving to Whiting 15 years ago. John was an accountant for The State of New Jersey. He was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He was also a member of the 424 Field Artillery. John was a member of The Holy Name Society, Lamb of God Prayer Group, a lector, Eucharistic minister, and taught CCD at St Aloysius Church in Jackson. He was professed as a Third Order Carmelite in 1996. He was a Eucharistic Minister, Usher, and a member of the Lazarus Ministry of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, NJ.
John is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 61 years; his three sons, Rev. James Cascione CSSR, Dr. Gregory Cascione, PhD and his wife Sarah, and Dr. Mark Cascione, M.D. and his longtime friend John; his daughter Josetta Burchardt; his brother Charles Cascione; his sister Joan McDonald and three grandchildren Daniel and his wife Traci, Marie, and Brian Burchardt.
Visitation will be Friday August 29th from 3:00 to 9:00 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday, Aug. 30th at 10:45 am at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory to Most Holy Redeemer Church, 173 E. 3rd St, NY, NY 10009 would be greatly appreciated.
