Obituary of George Chifulio

George A. Chifulio, 82, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Englewood, NJ, he lived in Waretown before moving to Whiting seven years ago. He was a formulator for Bristol Myers Squibb Co. in Princeton and New Brunswick for 31 years before retiring. George was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Marine Corps League, Bayville Detachment. He enjoyed playing his harmonica. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. George was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Martin and three children. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Mary; one son, Anthony Ritter; two daughters, Lora Chifulio and Carol Chifulio; five step-children; one brother, Carl; one sister, Kathleen and five grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 13th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
