Obituary of Jr. Rice

DeWitt Rice, Jr., 84, of Asbury Park, NJ, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Formerly of Long Branch, he moved to Asbury Park 30 years ago. He was a carpenter for Georcey Plumbing Company in Long Branch, NJ. DeWitt is predeceased by his parents, Mattie and DeWitt Rice, Sr. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, George David and Mildred Rice; his daughter, Linda Rice-Ramadan; step-daughter, Grace Schanck; four step-sons, Joseph Cantey, Michael Schanck, Steven Schanck and Bryan Schanck; two grandchildren, Yolanda and Lonia Williams; two great-granddaughters, Jahyla and Jahsria; two great-great grandsons, Treon and Howard; a special cousin, Major and Eleanor Rice and many more relatives. Cremation will be private and under the direction of Aaron Cremation Associates, Inc., Whiting, NJ. A Memorial Gathering will be held on July 29th at 6:00 p.m. at the VFW on Corlies Avenue, Neptune, NJ.
