Obituary of Patricia Grieshaber

Patricia W. Grieshaber, 88, of Whiting, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at The Pines at Whiting. Born in Irvington, she lived in Bridgewater and Manahawkin before moving to Whiting in 2012. Patricia graduated from Thomas R. Proctor High School, Utica, NY, Class of 1944. She attended Middlesex General Hospital School of Nursing as a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurses Corp during World War II and attended Rutgers University and Trenton State College. Pat was a medical assistant for Dr. Edwards, M.D., and a dental assistant to Dr. Philip Craig in 1947 while living on campus in Upper Montclair. She also worked at E.J. Korvette and Bankers National Life. She was a member of the Realtors Association for 30 years in Somerset, Hunterdon and Southern Ocean Counties. She was a life member of Deborah, Long Beach Island Chapter; former member of Long Beach Island Garden Club and AARP, Chapter 3728; former member of Southern Ocean County Hospital Auxiliary and former hospital volunteer; former member of Friends of Stafford Library and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Long Beach Island. Patricia was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, William Martin Grieshaber in 2000. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Mary, James and Martha and Joel and Marilyn; three grandchildren, Christine, James, Jr. and Jessica and five great-grandchildren. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 30th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Inurnment will follow at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach, Long Beach Island, NJ.
