Obituary of James Walsh

James R. Walsh, 79, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife, Geraldine Smith Walsh, at his side on May 8, 2014. He was born in New York City (Yorkville) to James and Eileen (Rown) Walsh. He was a graduate of St. Ann's Academy and attended Cornell University; served active duty with the United States Army during the Korean War; and worked as an accountant in the public and corporate sectors. He is survived by his children Pamela, Jay, Susan, and Sherry and 8 grandchildren; his siblings Vincent, Peter, Elaine, & Nancy Walsh Reilly, 4 nieces and 3 nephews, and many cousins. His great passion was sports. He had a great love for the NY Yankees, Rangers and the horses. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 13th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ with a funeral mass following at 10:45 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. Burial immediately following at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
