Obituary of John Garthe

John M. Garthe, 64, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2013 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Milltown before moving to Whiting in 1976. John was a business agent for the Sprinkler Fitters Union, Local 669 covering the Eastern Region of the United States. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. John is survived by his wife of 13 years, Janice M. Garthe; his father, Mario M. Garthe, Sr., one daughter, Casey Chambeau and her husband, Todd of Whiting; two sons, Douglas Borghese of Ocean Gate and Christopher Borghese of Baltimore, MD and one brother, Mario M. Garthe, Jr. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 17th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 18th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting followed by a Funeral Liturgy at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
