Family and friends of my dear grandfather, Poppo, I share in the grief and loving memories. I will cherish the childhood experiences the most, as Colleen too mentioned, at the Toms River home. The cork wall with the mirrors, the click-button tv remote on a cord, the impeccable lawn, and indeed the garage. And yes, the proudly flown flag. Poppo's smile, generosity, and loving guidance helped shape who I am today. I loved the way he used to call me "Boss". He also taught me how to hit a 5 iron. I'm grateful to have recently spoken with him one last time, and he gave me a couple more jokes for the road. He will be missed.

To the Entire Stavish Family, Please accept my deepest sympathy, my loving wishes and the many prayers I offer up for you all at this very sad and most difficult time. I shall always treasure close in my heart the very fond memories I have of Tom/Poppo. An old Makah Indian Poem "Still With Us" reads as this.... Do not stand by my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am a diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awake in the morning hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft star shine at night. Do not stand by my grave and cry. I am not there . . . I DID NOT DIE. Sincerely, Eileen M. Malloy

This wonderul picture brings back memories of Poppo playing sax in the garage of the Toms River home and Casey being so eager to learn to play like he did. It is a wonderful photo. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will choose the image of the flag below because I really remember him always having the flag at his home also as I think of him.
