Obituary of Lawrence "Larry" Walpole
Lawrence F. Walpole, 84, of Whiting, passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 peacefully at home. Born in Manhattan, NY he lived in Yonkers, NY before moving to Whiting in 2002. He retired after 45 years of being a supervisor for Saks 5th Avenue in New York City. Larry was a member of the paper gang of Cedar Glen Lakes. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. As well as a member of the Adoration Society and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
Larry was predeceased by his two children, Lawrence Walpole Jr and Deborah Walpole. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen; two sons, Douglas and his wife Lydia of Hicksville Long Island, and Robert Walpole and his wife Michaela of Germany; a daughter, Donna Letterese and her husband Michael of Poughkeepsie, NY; brother, William Walpole and his wife Mary of Horseheads, NY; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation is Tuesday, Dec. 31st from 7:30 am to 8:45 am at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:00 am at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
