Obituary of Anna Costa

Anna M. Costa, 90, of Whiting, peacefully passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at home. She was born in Edwardsville, PA, and resided in Trenton, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1979. Anna was a devoted wife and mother who had a nurturing touch; she was truly a kind and gentle soul who lived for her family's happiness. She had a green thumb and could make any weak little sprig grow. Nothing made her happier then being in the arms of her husband, James while dancing. She was a communicant of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Anna was predeceased by her husband, James, of 59 years; her son, James in 1974; her brothers Paul Kopack, Michael Kopack, Andrew Kopack, and Joseph Kopack; and her granddaughter Ann Kathryn. She is survived by her son, David and his wife Eileen of Mercerville; two daughters, Joyce Ann and her husband John Heley of Bedminster, PA, Nancy and her husband Mark Metzger of Levittown, PA; a brother, George Kopack of Kingston, PA; a sister, Mary Blazick of Kingston, PA; 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Kathryn, Jennifer, Kelly, Loren, Alexandra, and Jacquelyn; 3 young great-grandchildren, Michael, Elise, and Abbot; and 2 more great-grandchildren on the way. Friends may call Sunday, Dec. 22nd from 2 to 4 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 9 am, Monday at the All Saints Chapel of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305.
