Obituary of Robert Schick
Robert M. Schick, 92, of Whiting, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at home. He was born on July 30, 1921 in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, NY. He lived in the Bronx, NY, Verona and Oakland NJ before moving to Whiting in 1985. Robert was a Licensed Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree from C.C.N.Y. and a Master of Electrical Engineering Degree from Columbia University. He had 40 years of engineering experience primarily in the Aerospace Industry working on NASA Space Exploration Projects. He retired as the supervisor of the Metrology Engineering Division. He was a U.S. Army veteran and saw combat action in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II, earning two Battle Stars. He enjoyed Line Dancing and was a member of the Men's Line Dancing Group known as the Chippendales. He was a member of the Pinochle Club and Resident's Club.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife and companion of 58 years, Claire Schick; his son, Arch Priest Warren Herman, Parish Priest in Buffalo, NY; granddaughter, Elizabeth Schick of Tokyo, Japan; grandson, George Schick of Buffalo, NY; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Schick of Buffalo, NY and brother, Harold P. Schick of Fort Wayne, IN.
Services are private under the direction of Aaron Cremation Associates, Inc., Whiting.
