Obituary of John Pico

John J Pico 71, of Whiting, NJ passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu Hawaii. John was born in Newark, NJ, to Anna and Nuncio Pico. He graduated from Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University. In 1963 he married Agnes Guariniello, and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. He worked 35 years in the insurance industry, and retired from Lincoln National Life. They lived in Toms River for 24 years, and then spent eight years in Florida before moving back to New Jersey. John was a member of the Lacey Elks Lodge #2518, and was also past president of Ocean Wreck Divers, Venture 3 Condo Association, and the Pine Ridge South Residents Association. John was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved life, his family, entertaining people, cooking, boating, fixing things, and assisting anyone who needed it. Travelling was his passion, whether it was in his motor home, or taking many cruises, he enjoyed it all. John enjoyed taking his adored grandson, Hunter on many field trips and adventures, just as he took his sons years before. He will be sorely missed by all of his many wonderful friends and family members. John is survived by his beloved wife Agnes C. Pico; son, James J Pico and wife Darice of Galloway NJ; son, Michael J. Pico and partner Bill Denver of Galloway, NJ; grandson, Hunter Pico; his sister, Maureen Nisivoccia of East Hanover, NJ; his brother-in- law, Lou Guariniello and wife, Joan of Hudson, FL, and numerous family members and friends. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 27th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. Additional visitation will be at 9:45 a.m. and a Funeral Mass will be held at the All Saints Chapel of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Monday, October 28th at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii, 2250 Kalakaua Avenue, Suite 403-3, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815 or the Popcorn Park Zoo.
