Obituary of Vincent Isernia

Vincent J. Isernia, 100, of Whiting, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at home. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived there until he moved to Whiting in 1976. Vincent was a longshoreman for the New York Shipping Association, Brooklyn, NY, retiring in 1974. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife, Santa in 2011. He is survived by one son, Robert Isernia; one daughter, Paula Butchko, four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 1st at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:45 a.m., Friday, August 2nd at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Entombment will follow at Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting, NJ. Donations in his memory to Compassionate Card Hospice, 833 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755 would be appreciated.
