Obituary of Caroline Eissner
Caroline A. Eissner, 99, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at The Pines at Whiting. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she lived in Hoboken before moving to Whiting in 1979. Caroline was a registered nurse at Christ Hospital in Jersey City and Paul Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, retiring in 1979. She graduated form Christ Hospital School of Nursing, Jersey City in 1939. She was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and Korea, retiring after 20 years of military service. She was a member of the C.B.I., China, Burma, India National Association; a member of the V.F.W. Post #8745, Whiting where she served as Post Commander from 1984-1985; and a member of the American Legion Post #502, Whiting. Caroline was a member of St. Stephen Episcopal Church, Whiting.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry in 1971; her three brothers, Edward Robert and Arthur Avila and two sisters, Anna Carregal and Margaret Lindenau. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, May 29th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting followed by a service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
