Obituary of Sr. Zdanowicz
EDWIN ZDANOWICZ, SR., 88, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, died Tuesday, December 11, at Whiting Health Care Center in Manchester. Mr. Zdanowicz was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Saddle Brook and Hainesville before moving to Whiting in 1984. He was the Mayor of Saddle Brook from 1958 to 1961 and was the Town Commissioner. He was the Postmaster of Saddle Brook for 20 years, retiring in 1984. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Whiting Memorial Post 502. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Rochelle Park. He was predeceased by his wife, Stella in 1987. Surviving are three children, Edwin, Jr. of Whiting, Ellen Gural of Ocean Pines, MD and Joan Katz of Hemlock Farms, PA; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will be offered Monday at 10 a.m. in the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
